Kristen Jex ACMHC (She/Her)
Kristen’s work as a counselor is centered on supporting clients in strengthening the connections between themselves and others. Her approach is to help individuals build the relationships they want using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, DBT, and other interventions like Motivational Interviewing as appropriate.
Kristen holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is passionate about helping her clients discover their power and capacity for positive change. Her clinical experience includes working with depression, anxiety, addiction, codependency, spirituality, and grief and loss. Kristen is currently taking beginner’s level courses in Somatic Experiencing, a technique aimed at resolving trauma and treating stress-related disorders. She has also taken courses in the Gottman Method, a research-based couples therapy approach.
She grew up in various places and cultures and strives to stay curious about the world. She finds working with people from all walks of life very rewarding.
